This afternoon I got to meet with the lactation consultant. She was super nice and it went very well! Brenna's got everything going right it seems, even though I don't always feel like I am doing it right. She's gained 2 oz. since Sunday when she was born, has the right looking poops for breastfed babies, and has a great latch! I am just waiting for my nipples to toughen up a little. They've always been so sensitive.

My milk came in today and that's exciting news too! Now I know she's really getting something! Yippee! I am making progress on this!

That's great, it's so good to hear when things are going well. Your nipples will toughen up with time, it's just one of those things. Usually by 4-6 weeks, woman see some decent improvement.

so she is UP from her birth weight? WOW, that is fantastic. I think it took my daughter a few weeks to get back above her birth weight, she lost about a pound from birth.

It IS hard to know you are doing the right thing, esp with so many emotions and hormones flying around, not to mention sleep issues and just adjusting to your new life.

I'm proud of you. Don't leave now though, just cause it's going well.
