zoe has been screaming since his morning, finally took a nap for 3 hours, woke up screaming, got her to calm down and started nursing when she pooped. a LOT. which is good except it was very frothy, with all these little bubbles in it. it wasn't a weird color at all, kind of orange.
what does this mean?? is it normal? what should i do?
IF its frothy, but normal color, its no cause for concern but could be the sign of an overactive letdown and/or problem with a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance...
The solution is pretty easy - if youre switching bby from one side to the next at a nursing session - from here forward just let baby nurse an entire session from one side to ensure plenty of hindmilk.
If youre already doing that - nurse two sessions in a row from one side before switching. Pump a little to relieve pressure if you need to in order to avoid engorgement. Its called "block feeding" and should eliminate the frothy poops
