So I just walked to Starbucks and had Walter in my sleepy wrap. This older man with white hair came up to me in line and asked how old the baby is, whether it is a girl or boy, and what his name is. He then asked me if I was nursing him!! I said yes and he replied, "good for you!" And then he walked away. How bizzare? Aren't most people shy to talk about breast feeding, let alone an 50 or so year old man? He was very kind and looked well off so I'm guessing he had to be a pediatrician or OBGYN because middle aged men don't go around asking young moms if they breast feed...
I thought it was so strange that I had to share.

LOL I'm emotional I probably would have cried

I go shopping with the 5 kids sometimes and an old man came up to me the other day and said "Good for you, I have 6 kids and they are all best friends now" and just walked away I almost had tears... and then one of the kids tried to steal a balloon and I got over it

Speaking of weird comments... we were on a trolley in Seattle and we asked the driver about what restaurants there were where he was dropping us off. He was spouting a list and said, "Hooters... he (Blake) would probably really like it there." I was thrown off for a minute and then said, "you have no idea!"

I wasn't even nursing at the time. Too funny.

i had a similar thing happen when we stopped by my husband's work one day with zoe. one of his coworkers, single woman in her 30's with no kids, asked if i was breastfeeding and then when i said yes got a relieved look on her face and gave me the thumbs up... very unexpected...

That old man was probably my FIL. He is so weird. Right before I had the baby we were all out at lunch and a baby in the restaurant cried. He says to my husband, "did you know when a baby cries it makes a woman lactate" I was like OMG.... not to mention my daughters are sitting there so now I'm thinking I will have to explain what lactate means. And, yes I did have to inform DH that it is not really true all the time.
