First os all...Hello!!
My name is Kim, I'm mommy to Joey 8, Louis 2 and Krystal is almost 9 weeks old. I am EBF with Krystal and this is the longest i have succesfully nursed. JOey I never tried as I was still in HS and needed to go back, Louis i made it to 6 weeks before his ped pushed me to switch to formula because his jaundice wouldnt clear up and he was slow gaining. So far things have been great, Krystal went from 6lbs 6 oz at birth to 6lbs at her lowest abou 1 week old. And at 1 month was 7lbs 3 oz, and 2 months was 9lbs 8 oz... so it's really working and is a great feeling. Aiming for 6 months and hopfully 1 year at least.

The problem is that whenever I feed her Louis comes up and pats my shirt asking saying he is hungry, and trying to lift it up. I've tried letting him, and to be honest it kidna freaked me out a little, and is not something i feel comfortable doing. Any advice on what I could do?
I tried explaining that baby needed that, and I could give him some milk in a cup if he wanted but that didnt stop it for long.
open to ANY suggestions....

I would not let him if it freaks you out and explain that this is how babies eat and he is a big boy so he gets to drink from his special cup. Explain what things he CAN do and the baby can't. He is probably feeling let out. Poor guy!

He didnt even seem to really like it...he's asked a few times since then but usually when i offer to him he runs off and plays, but keeps comming back and asking. I've gotten a few good ideas from my July 05 PR.... but someone suggested this board so I decided to stop by and see what suggestions you all had .

Honestly, I think its less about him wanting to nurse than it is wanting to make sure he still has a place with you now that the new baby is here & he probably notices the new baby at the breast a lot. It probably feels a bit awkward esp if this is the longest youve nursed so far. But - I would suggest keeping in mind that even our reactions now have long lasting effects & will shape the way he views women. If its treated as if its something off limits & taboo, he will continue thinking that until something causes him to think otherwise. If he thinks its ok - theyre for nursing, no big deal - he will eventually wane in his curiosity.

Personally, I say just dont make a fuss over it and be non chalant about it. I would bet it doesnt last more than a few weeks if he sees that youre not concerned over it & that he still can come to you. Also - while its difficult with a newborn, make sure hes getting plenty of one on one time with you. And include him in things that you do with the baby. Maybe read a book to him while you nurse, or lay down with him while nursing. It will help him feel included & that the baby isnt taking you away from him
