I just read on the back of my Fiber supplements that I am supposed to ask a Dr. before using if I am pregnant or b/f! Opps...I take them sometimes 9xs a day. (It says you can take it 3 pills, 3Xs a day on the back). I don't take 9 every day though, but I do take at least 3-5. There is 1 gram of fiber for every pill. Does ne one know if thats okay? I don't want to call my Dr. again. I called yesterday and asked about Claritin D and they had to call me back and I just don't like to deal with waitin g for a phone call when I am pretty sure it's okay, right? (Now I am doubting myself!)
The warnings are usually put there to save thier own butts, but I'm pretty positive fiber supplements are fine to take while breastfeeding. Nothing in them should get into your blood, which is what affects your milk. Here's a link from Kellymom.com on laxatives, it should have something in there with more on it: http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/laxatives.html
