Hi everyone, I drop in from time to time, but we are almost at 4 months of nursing now! yeah!!
Anyways, I got my dreaded period about 3 weeks ago, when I told a lot of people that they were stunned, since I was only 3 months post partum and I am nursing exclusively. When did you guys get yours? It kind of bummed me out when I got it only because I was excited to not have one for awhile. But I did get my IUD so that was good! (They wanted to wait until I got my first period.)
And is it pretty common for my nipples to hurt now? She tends to chew on them more. She is teething so I know that is the culprit, but ouchies!!
There are the unlucky few that get thier periods early on while breastfeeding. Mine came after DD started solids and was 9 months old. I was hoping it would hold out until she weaned, but I'm glad it didn't because then we couldn't have TTCed until then.
DD always did a lot of chewing when she was teething, which would make my nipples sore. If it's pain that started more recently, then it's probably from teething. If it's been longer than that, then it could be thrush.

I didn't get my first period until Grady was almost 9 months old. I was surprised to start cause we still nurse very frequently and the week I started he had a bit of a stomach bug and I was nursing exclusively. It has been sorta wacky since then. Not back on track yet.
I will say that the night before I started I complained to my husband that my nipples were sore and that it was unusual for that to happen. I started my period the next day and I think that was the reason I was sore. I googled and it said that they could be way more tender during your period which I figured!!
