I meant to post this a while ago, but kept forgetting. I was talking to my midwife about nursing at our last appointment and she mentioned something to me I had never heard before. She said they believe that a baby's saliva may change when they are teething, which can cause sore nipples in a breastfeeding mom. I guess that would explain why sore nipples are so common when our babies are getting thier teeth in!
