First off my name is Heidi (25) and I am a little over 12 weeks pregnant with an oopsie trying to continue to nurse my son.

So I have had to slow down to nursing my DS (9.5 months) to only 2 times per day due to my supply decreasing with my unexpected pregnancy. I really didn't try anything to up my supply and I think now after 3 weeks of not nursing him as much that I want to try a few things to see if it helps my supply at all...he misses nursing frequently, and so do I. I know part of it has to do with the pregnancy hormones etc...I was previously taking fenugreek before finding out I was pregnant as my supply decreased when I had to pump more at work while DS is at daycare. I was reading that Alfalfa is safe to take during pregnancy and can help with supply and was wondering if any of you had some tips on other things I can try. I am almost out of the first trimester so not sure if that helps much. The Tandem Nursing forum doesn't get much love at the moment so I thought I would ask here first.

Thanks for listening and for any advice you can offer. I have searched high and low and looking for other options.

congrats on your pregnancy! even if it was unplanned...its still a huge blessing.

oatmeal is a huge supply booster and definitely safe while pregnant. check out the "monster cookie" sticky at the top of the board. i wasn't having any supply issues and ate a batch of monster cookies over a few days and i was engorged after that! hth
