I started taking an antibiotic on Friday, and also started taking acidophilus 3x a day. Tonight, I just noticed 2 white sores under Jacob's lip. They aren't really white, they look more like canker sores than anything. I don't have any pain or anything in my breasts/nipples. He is BFing normally and eating fine. He doesn't seem like he's in pain at all.

Jacob will be 1 yr old tomorrow! I made it to a year!

eta: i guess i should ask...can babies get canker sores??

I would guess that they can get canker sores. I'm not sure what causes them, but I wouldn't rule it out. Probably wait it out, if it gets worse and spreads, it could be thrush. If it goes away, then chances are they were just canker sores. I'm not sure what thrush looks like in a baby's mouth, that's not a symptom DD ever got with it. Hopefully someone else can help you there!

Happy birthday to your little man!

Sounds like thrush to me... i would treat w/ thrush to be on the safe side esp since you just had antibiotics.

Gentian Violet works great & is used on canker sores by some folks too It cant hurt!
