My baby is 5 months old, and I just had my annual exam. The doc recommended Mirena since we'll prob. want another baby later on. I was reading through the literature and seen that it said to talk to a healthcare professional if breastfeeding. My doc knows I'm breastfeeding, and apparently he thinks its fine Just wanted to know if any of you have it, and if you like it or not.
I have Mirena now... I had a horrible time with my milk supply while I was on the depo shot for 6 months after DS2 was born. Now that I have Mirena I have NO supply issues at all! I do have cramping and some groin pain still (going in on October 2nd to have an u/s done to be sure it's in the right place) and I'm still spotting - I had it placed July 23rd. But it's safe for BFing mommies! And it's hassle free - not having to remember to take it or change it - just have to remember to check for your strings every few weeks! HTH!
