ok so sinc Ive bene useing the sheild for te last 3 months and my niples toughen up from that now she's starting to nurse without the sheild and I sear my Nipples look like a Playtex Pacifier!!! KWIM? Is that normal? Is she shapeing them that way cause of her tounge? They hurt like crazy so I dont know If they just need to re-toughen up again?

It sounds like her latch or suck is wrong. See a lactation consultant ASAP to get things looked at.

You may have mentioned this before, but what was the reason you started using the shield?

We've had this issue for quite a while. It was because of the poor suck. I also had to watch and make sure her latch was correct. Eventually she learned to suck better, but it was tough getting there.
