Momma's that breastfeed I need your help. With Ethan ds#1 I had no issues with my supply but this time around I am getting frustrated because my right side is not making enough milk at all, I can nurse Brennan for an hour on that side and he is still hungry so then I have to nurse him on the left side. When I start out nursing on the left side he is full after less than a half hour. So I am really only having issue with my supply on my one side. I am drinking tons of water, eating oatmeal every day (not instant) and nursing him as much as i can on my right side hoping to get my body to realize that side is not doing its job for that side. What else can I do? I need advice.

It's commn to be lopsided. Try nursing on that side first at every feeding or pump just that side after feedings to try to increase supply. That said, I tried those things and it made no difference for me! My right produces 3x as much as my left! I know this b/c I pump at work. But together I make enough for my baby. And I've been doing this for almost 11 months with no formula at all. Just offer both breasts at every feeding and be confident that your body knows what to do.

It's pretty common for one side to produce more than the other.

I've been having the same problem. I nurse on that side first every time and just end up nursing on both sides. Oatmeal does nothing for me, but I've been taking Fenugreek and it seems to be making a difference. She doesn't always need both sides now when I start on the right, but when I pump I still get a lot less than the left.

I had pretty much the identitcal experience & eventually they looked similar in size...then I got mastitis on my "good" side & the supply there died & low & behold my other side picked up - go figure...so they evened out a bit - but eventually the "good" side caught up & got a bit ahead. Weird boobies!

Thank you ladies, I have been making sure to start out on my right side and then have also been pumping afterwards (if DS#1 isn't demanding attention). I think it has just thrown me off since with my first son I was pretty even and didn't have any issues. I appreciate you all taking the time to help me out.

I had that problem too. I just made sure that I offered that boob at every feeding even for just a bit. Eventually they evened out although I think that the "superboob" is still better at producing.
