I have no advice, we had this issue the other day and it was horribly painful. She wanted to nurse for comfort, but would end up biting my nipple to get pressure on her gums, and it just HURT!! Have you tried any teething remedies? When the homeopathic things don't work, we have been giving her motrin.

I agree with what Meredith recommended. I use teething tablets, Motrin when she really needs it and you can also try teething toys or a cold, wet washcloth to chew on before he nurses. If he gets it out of his system, it might keep him from using you to as a teething toy. Also, be sure when you feed him that he is hungry, he may be asking to nurse for comfort, but he's not really hungry and that's why he's chewing on you. If you can tell the difference between the 2, it might help to wait until you know he's really hungry and then he might get down to business.

For your nipples, let them air out when possible and express some milk on them to help them heal. Lansinoh might also help because it keeps them moist and can speed up healing.
