For awhile now I've noticed that when I BF I no longer feel hungry. Even if I'm starving before I start feeding my DD, once I start nursing I suddenly don't feel hungry at all, and often the thought of food sounds gross.

Like Sunday night we were at dinner for my mom's birthday and I was starving. I got up to go BF Meg somewhere quiet in the restaurant and I picked up a piece of bread to take with me, but once she started nursing I didn't want the bread anymore and I no longer cared if I ate the steak I ordered. Yet, once I was done feeding her I was ravenous again! (And yes, I ate almost my entire steak!)

Does this happen to anyone else? Or am I weirdo?

I haven't noticed that, but I have noticed that I have to go to the bathroom every time I start nursing. It's like I don't realize until he is attached. I also get insanely thirsty after we finish.

I haven't noticed...I'm usually hungry all the time. I'm a grazer and seems like I eat little things all day long.

But I do get insane thirst at times.

I'm jealous! I get super hungry, thirsty, and 90% of the time, I notice I have to pee the second she starts nursing! So I'm practically ready to pee myself by the time she's done, then have to make a beeline for the bathroom!

That would be interesting to see!

The minute I finish nursing her I go right back to being hungry so it's not like it's helping me any. I sometimes feel really thirsty when I nurse but usually I don't notice.

Seems like I notice that I lost my appetite all the time lately when I nurse. When we were driving home from my cousins wedding last weekend (a 12+ hour drive ) we stopped for fast food and I was nursing Meg in the backseat, my DH handed me my burger but I couldn't even think about eating it at that point but the minute Meg was done I gobbled it up so fast! Sometimes I've even feel sick to my stomach while nursing, maybe I'm just a weirdo!

I was just telling my mom this the other day! I had gone to their house to eat dinner and Harper wanted to eat at the same time, of course :0) Everyone kept telling me to eat while she was eating, but I wasn't hungry. I was starving before dinner and after nursing her, but I just don't feel hungry and/or don't want to eat during. So you're not alone!

You're not a weirdo!! This same thing happens to me all the time! It's so bizarre..like you I can be starving, but just let Ben latch on and the mere thought of food makes me sick to my stomach. I wonder what this is and why it happens? I never had this happen with my first, just this little guy.

Whew, I was afraid it was just me! I'd love to know why it happens because it is so strange. Maybe I'll ask my doctor when I see her in a couple of weeks to see if she has any ideas.

No hunger issues here except sometimes I'm completely ravenous...but I'm not sure it's the bf'ing! It's a good excuse for now. I do get super thirsty though....
