It's been forever and a day since I've posted on here, but I need some help/reassurance. I went out with a group of mommies tonight, and pumped at 2:30 p.m. We thought the movie started at 4:50, but it didn't...it was at 7:05. The movie was almost three hours long, and I didn't get any stimulation until almost 10:30. I pumped enough for my son to eat, and then pumped again since he was asleep. I wore a pair of Spanx, which really compressed my breasts. I'm freaking out that my choice in undergarment and how long I went between feedings/stimulation is going to drastically affect my milk supply. What do I need to do tomorrow to make sure my supply is not effected?!

Also, I have another long night planned (10 year reunion) that's from 6:30-midnight. What should I do to make sure my supply doesn't decrease from that night?!

Thanks!

I really don't think it will have that drastic of an effect as long as you nurse on demand for the next couple of days. Also perhaps encourage(not wake him up!)him to nurse at night. I am not sure if you use a pacifier but curb that for the next couple of days so he is required to get all of his sucking needs from you. Maybe eat some oatmeal(real kind not the packaged instant kind!) each day as well. It definitely always boosts my supply!

Thanks so much. Yeah, he still wakes up two-three times a night, so I'm covered there. I'll also have some Oatmeal in the morning.

After two months of breastfeeding, I don't think that one night would mess up your supply, but I would sneak away and pump while at the reunion just so you don't leak or become engourged <- how embarrassing, right?

If you're really concerned, I'd make some monster cookies - what a fun and yummy way to keep up your supply!

I would just nurse on demand tomorrow and you should be fine mama

Once my DD was older, I was fine to go longer than usual between feedings occasionally without it affecting my supply. I usually pumped when I got home to make up for that missed feeding and nursed her on the other side and that helped.

the PP's have said it all. nurse on demand the next day, and if you do notice a little dip eat oatmeal, or make the cookies...my faves are the oatmeal raisin, but others say the monster cookies are awesome

There is a sticky here with the recipe, definitely good, make sure you take them out as soon as they are starting to barely brown at the edge, much tastier soft.. I couldnt even eat them when they were crunchy..
