I went to my parents place last night, and my brother stopped in with his 3 week old baby girl. They have two other kids, 2 and 1, so my SIL was understandably too tired to come. When I saw him alone with the baby, I asked him what he was going to do if she got hungry? He said "well you're here, aren't you?" I figured he was kidding and he would just go home. But when she started to fuss, he handed her to me... I asked him if his wife would mind and he said of course not, you're her aunt! So I went ahead and fed my niece! Well, you should have seen her face! She was looking at me like "this is ok...but I know you're not my mommy"...it was pretty funny...

That's great! It's nice you are close enough that it's not "weird"! Love it! I half-jokingly told some friends that if necessary they could nurse Kolbie and they thought I was nuts. But really, if it was needed I'd be okay with it!

Ya, if it was a friend, I don't know if I would be as comfortable, but with family, it was really ok. Slightly weird at first though!

I dont think i would be ok with anyone else nursing my baby? that would bother me as his mother...maybe if it was already in a bottle id be a bit more ok with it! but at least you were ok with it and so was your bro and your boobies came in handy! haha

how funny! I wonder if your SIL even knew? My SIL just had my nephew last week so of course we're both nursing and we were joking about feeding each others babies in the hospital. Don't think we'd actually do it unless we had to though.

That's awesome. I volunteered to watch my two nephews (one is three weeks) and neice while my brother and his wife looked for houses. She said, we'd have to take Logan. I said oh, yeah then said, well, I'm qualified in that area. I was kidding, but she had a freaked out look on her face.

How funny! When I went out of town without Abri, I was worried about having pumped enough. DH joked that he'd take her over to our friends' house because they have a 4 month old who's also breastfed. Somehow I think she would be weirded out by feeding my baby
