Just wondering which breast pump you would recommend. I have been looking at them, but I have not made the investment yet. I probably will be returning to work when the baby is about 7-8 weeks old, but I wanted to continue to breastfeed.

Thanks in advance for any information.

I just bought an ameda purely yours backpack this morning...I had been debating which kind to get and though I am going to be a SAHM I wanted something that will last and highly recommended. My doula has recommended this one, especially if you are returning to work. It's less expensive then the pump in style advance.

When making your purchase make sure you buy it from a place that is an authorized dealer. Your warrenty on the product will not be valid if buying secondhand or from unauthorized dealers.

I don't mean this as any offense but you really liked this pump? I bought this one time when I was working full time and left my pump in style at home. I used the thing for like ten minutes and pumped nothing! I finally ended up hand expressing and returning the pump to the store the next day. I am glad it worked out for you but it does not have a good reputation.

I would recommend a Medela Pump in Style or Ameda Purely Yours if you are going to be working full time or part time. If you are not going to be working at all I would recommend the Avent Isis. I have used the Medela Pump in Style and it is really close to a hospital grade pump. I have not used the Ameda but I have heard really good things about it. The Isis is a great hand pump and I know some women that use it and work full time.

I stayed home with my son, and just used the avent breast pump. It wasn't electric, but it worked great. With this one, I will probably go back to work, so I might get the medela
