What objects did or do you find most helpful in breastfeeding, especially in the beginning?

For me it was my boppy pillow, I used it all the time, even if it was just under my arm to keep it supported.

A good friend of mine is due in June and her baby shower is next weekend. She has many of the basics but I'm wondering if there's something I'm forgetting.

Nursing bras. My boobs get so huge when my milk comes in so a good nursing bra helps me keep them under control.

yep I'd have to agree and say nursing bra or tanks, my boppy pillow, that breast cream stuff, maybe nursing pads, and my moby wrap:]

lanolin in the beginning
decent nursing pads in the leaking stage
burp cloths

everything I needed/wanted in arms reach since I couldn't get up while nursing... so tv remote, a book maybe?, phone/laptop

I preferred the My Brest Friend pillow when she was small
Nursing pads
Nursing tanks
Tons of burp cloths (dd2 had horrible reflux with projectile vomit)

breakfast tray to keep your food/books/remote on. I kept it next to me on the couch during the first weeks.

Nursing tanks and a big ol' water bottle (Contigo Autoseal is my favorite!) so I don't have to fill up my cup a million times a day---or knock it over in the middle of the night and spill it everywhere. I actually just bought 4 more so I don't have to wash it every day.

a good set of resusable nursing pads so I didn't leak all over the place.

with my first baby I would say the nipple cream was the best stuff ever.

Nursing pads, lanolin, big 32 oz cup so I didn't have to refill cup a million times in an hour, and my pump. I use the boppy now, but it was difficult to use it at the beginning because of the swelling after having a c-section.
