Hey again! I have tried a million carriers but my back problems are really bad... Well I just got a Moby as my one last ditch effort to be able to wear her! It seems to not bother my shoulders! Distributes the weight beautifully, I have done the traditional hug hold and got that down... Now anyone use a Moby and nurse in it? What hold would I use? Any tips for a beginner baby wearer attempting to nurse while wearing?

I never used the Moby to nurse, but i bet if you went on youtube you can find out how! our La Leche does help women with baby carriers and nursing in them, so you can always contact your local one and see if they offer that.

I've nursed in a Moby, and it worked just fine! We were in a tummy to tummy carry, and he had been just snuggled in nicely with his head resting on my chest. I had my shirt open, and he actually just latched himself on without my even trying! I shifted him around a bit to get to a position I was a little more comfortable with him in, but yeah, definitely doable.

I've been using this carry: Wrap Your Baby - Cross Cradle Carry to nurse in. Also search YouTube for "nursing in a Moby wrap" and you will find lots of how-to videos.

Duh.. You Tube, I didn't even think of that! THANK YOU! Ok so another question, when people show a "wrap" video can I do that with a Moby? Is "wrapping" like a universal thing that can be done with any wrap

Yes, most of them can be done with any wrap. However, Moby is not safe to use for back carries, it's too stretchy and not supportive enough. But since you're looking for carries to nurse in, they won't be back carries anyway.

Also wanted to add, if you want to nurse in a wrap, especially in public, it's much easier to wear a nursing tank and button down shirt or something with a v-neck that you can pull your breast out of the top so you don't have to try to pull up your shirt with the wrap in the way.

I loooove nursing in my moby. Its awesome. We are tummy to tummy and he pretty much sits upright, slightly slanted towards the breast he is eating from.
Videos didnt help me I just had to keep playing around with it til we figured out what worked for us.

I never figured out nursing while wearing her, but the moby did seem like it would be the easiest since it's stretchy and more forgiving. If I were to try it I'd make sure when you tie it on that it's loose enough that they're at the right level to your boob (when I wore Kate in the moby she was SUPER little and I wanted her up high on my chest). Other than that I would think just experimenting with it!

And yeah, I think any front carries done with a wrap should be able to be done with a moby. Obviously if you try something and it feels too loose (since the moby is stretchy) then that's your answer, lol.

Thanks for the help, it's taking some getting used to, it's a little awkward due to my huge breast size, LOL but my LO is loving it cause she is getting all sorts of extra nursing in, cause of course I have to test this out when she is NOT hungry, other wise we would both go a little crazy, LOL!
