I think that letting her know you are considering other child care options is frine.

Do you think if she is so insistant that she would feed formula while you are away?

i rehearsed just what i wanted to say in the mirror like i was reading lines for a play because i do have a short temper and didnt want to lose it given shes my SOs mum..
