At what point would one ask for pharmacutical help with breastfeeding? What was it Reglan and Domiper-something. How would you go about asking for it? Any one have experience with it?

what makes you think you have a supply issue? i would meet with an LC or LLL and do some pre and post feeding weighins. Could it just be a growth spurt? Have you tried other stuff like drinking 100-120oz water/day, old fashion or steel cut oats? Mother's milk tea? power pumping?
as far as who to ask, your OB or midwife.

I called my ob a couple weeks ago and explained to them how I'd been pumping close to half of what I used to.
She called back and just asked a few questions about how much I was pumping and asked if I'd tried fenugreek which obviously I have taken so much fenugreek I should buy stock in it.
Anyway she wrote me a rx for reglan, or the generic. She warned me it could cause depression which made me a little nervous but I decided to give it a try.
I didn't feel depressed but I never had any ppd so it was less likely for that to be a problem. However it made me sooooo tired yet restless and foggy feeling. Like I had taken cold medicine or something
I don't know it just made me feel so out of it. I didn't like it do I stopped after just a few days. It wasn't worth it for me.
However in just a couple days I pumped 2-3 oz more.
Hopefully you don't have those side effects!

Well I don't think I have that much of a supply issue as I am trying everything and keeping up for the moment. Just wondering and asking because if it ever gets to that point... ya know?

I used Domperidone. I did help my supply, but it messed up my hormones big time! That's that reason I went off and I dried up completely.
With my next baby was the first time I tried the More Milk Plus. It helped just as much as the Domperidone did, but didn't screw me up at all.

as far as the pumping, it is common for women to see a decrease in pumping output around 6 months. It is not a cause for concern about your supply, the pump is NOT as efficient as the baby. As long as you nurse on demand your supply should be fine, your baby will know what to do, which is why during growth spurts, they cluster feed to increase your supply. I found if i drank 4-5 cups of mother's milk tea/day i would pump around 2oz more. I really struggled pumping at work and total i would get about 2-3 oz (total from both breasts combined was that much), the tea took it to 4oz on average.

Right now I take More Milk plus 4 times a day, 6am 12, 6pm and midnight. I pump 4-5 times a day at work every 2 hours. The first 3 times I pump, I take 2 610 fenugreek capsules and a CA/MG/Zinc pill. I drink 60 oz of water while at work plus anything I have for breakfast and then at home after work. I just pee clear a lot so I don't know how much it helps. I feed her before I go to work and then when I get to work (usually 30 min later) I pump, then every 2 hours after that. I get between 10-12 ounces a day pumped. I used to get 15-18 oz. Right when we stopped co-sleeping my supply dipped, then I got AF and it tanked, went back up again, stopped taking MMP and regretted it. Now I am on the other half of my cycle due for AF around the 9th and I pump 1oz each side 2 oz combined. I hand express after I pump, and I only pump for 3-5 minutes until the drops stop. I can get 1/4 of an ounce hand expressing. I'm still getting the hang of it. I feel a knot on the inside of each breast (by cleavage) so I need to nurse a different way (like football hold) so I can unclog myself. I started co-sleeping again last night. We stopped at 3 months because she was stirring, waking frequently and kicking me so we moved her to her crib or swing. We co-slept about half the night, I put her to bed at 730 and then for when she woke up we co-slept to feed, then she woke up so I put her back, then her next feed we co-slept after that. I also pump at 930pm 2 hours after she goes to sleep if she hasn't waken up to feed by then. She usually wakes at night around 1130, 230, 430 and then 630ish.
Does it cost money to have a visit with a La leche league person?

La Leche is free of charge. I generally only pumped about 1-1.5oz per side per pumping session. To make up for what i could not get at work, i would pump first thing in the morning while DD nursed on the other side, this triggered more letdowns and my supply was it's fullest. I also did that on the weekends/days off and pumped during nap times on days off to make up for the difference in milk not pumped at work. It is hard work!! are you double pumping or doing one side at a time?

yes! i kept saying i was going to stop at 12 months and then just kept on pumping until 19 months, i just wanted her to keep getting the breastmilk and she was not really into foods. lol. i bitterly hated it, but knew the benefits outweighed the burden.

I went ahead and consulted with Motherlove to find out if the More Milk Plus Special blend would be better. I told her my breasts didn't grow bigger with pregnancy, and I am basing that off of the fact all my normal bras fit normal and I never had to change anything. I got the capsules too because the tincture(sp?) makes me gag. Anyone use special blend before?
