So after MONTHS of pain, being treated for thrush and etc., I saw an LC yesterday who said I have nipple blanching.
Has anyone else dealt with this? She told me NOT to air them out and seeing as I have no nipple pads left, she got me to buy some (reallly niiiiiice) bamboo nipple pads. I got earth mama nipple butter too. She said to massage the breast after every feed and put a warm compress on it.
I'm really working on our latch but honestly dont know ever if hes doing it right or wrong. Ugh.
Oh ok, just don't know why air drying them would effect anything. Not saying she is wrong just doesn't make sense to me.
I don't think it will cause permanent damage, though I know its super painful and seems like it is! What did she say was wrong with his latch? I would just try to work on that and it will get better, hang in there.
Literally this morning I had this problem, my girl seems to have forgotten how to latch
I had this problem in the beginning.. I remember it being very painful, I believe that's why you shouldn't air it out, it just hurts more. I just kept working with his latch, trying to get my nipple in further and eventually it just worked itself out
We had this for 5 months and turned out to be an undiagnosed tongue tie. It's very common for them to go unnoticed, especially a posterior tongue tie. Sorry I don't know what you've been checked for but if it hasn't been done already maybe it would be worth having baby checked?
