So I am 5 weeks pregnant. *whoops*

Really excited EXCEPT I'm terrified of not being able to breastfeed Pea. I've been really sick these past 5 days, not morning sickness, fever of 101.5 or less. Twice now, once while pumping and once while BFing my body refused to have a let down. I'd like to believe it's because I've been sick. (right??) I've been taking generic tylenol and all it did was make me dizzy and not reduce the fever or take away my pains. DH got the real tylenol and for some reason that worked. I don't get it. Ok I'm rambling.

ANYWAY. I need some success stories and tips on how to keep up supply during pregnancy. If I can't make enough for her I have every intention of tandem nursing once the new baby is here. I'm just not ready to give it up yet. My milk doesn't taste funny to her and she is still happily nursing.

Maybe see if you can take fenugreek or herbal mothers milk tea to get a big supply going. Then your body kind of HAS to have a letdown.
I do that sometimes when mine goes down. I take a big dose of fenugreek, drink the tea, and eat oatmeal. The next couple of days I get really full with milk.

Congratulations!!!! Sometimes pregnancy does cause a decrease in milk supply, so all you can really do is keep nursing as much as you can and see how it goes! If your supply isn't quite enough to keep up with Pea, you might still be able to nurse partially throughout the pregnancy. Good luck!

When you're pregnant you can't take those supplements anymore

That's a definite bummer. =< I wonder why they are safe for nursing but not for pregnant. Hmm. Maybe a lot of steel cut oats? Extra water ? Idk how though bc I lost all appetite
