I'm going to be pumping and donating my milk to a mom that cannot breastfed. She has breast cancer and has to go on chemo. Baby is due July 20th and I'm hoping to build up a nice little stash for her before then. What are some good quick ways to boost supply?
drinking LOTS of water. Otherwise, you can power pump every day, where you pump for an hour-- 10 mins on, 10 mins off, double pump. This simulates clusterfeeding to raise your supply. Oatmeal (old fashioned or steel cut only) can help too!
Thanks, I've been taking some fenugreek and blessed thistle. I haven't noticed much of a change though. How much water would be enough, my normal is about 60oz a day sometimes a little more. I eat pretty healthy, I'm a huge planner and make a menu plan for the whole month, lunch and dinners so I always know what we are eating.
Go get mothers milk tea. (Kroger or gnc or gnc.com have it)
Boil 3 bags in a big pot of water. Put that water in a tea pitcher and finish filling up the pitcher then add one pack (or 2 if u prefer stronger) of the crystal light lemonade or generic brand.
I drink a glass per night of this if im low on milk and in a day or two I'm engorged. => try it. It has fenugreek and the blessed thistle In as well as other stuff. I can pump a ton of milk if I drink this lemonade mix. Keep it chilled tho or it ruins.

Thanks for all the great advice! I will up my water intake and try the tea thing. I'm very happy to do this for another mom, shes going through so much and was very upset when she found out she couldn't breastfeed.
