Hi! I've been posting on the breastfeeding board here and there, but never formally introduced myself. I'm Kim, and I have one little man who is nearly four months old. We have been EBFing all along. He had two ounces of formula on night two or three, and none since.
I'm totally surprised to be EBFing. I had completely convinced myself that breastfeeding was not going to be for me before I even had him. I was going to try, but I didn't think it would work out and I was planning to switch to formula after, like, three months at the longest. But, after I gave him those two ounces of formula at the hospital, I knew I *had* to breastfeed. Luckily, he nurses well and we have a great BFing relationship at almost 4 months. I plan to nurse for at least 6 months but hopefully a year and maybe beyond. Admittedly, I'm looking forward to introducing solids when he is ready, just so I can nurse a little less often and maybe have a bit more "me time". But it's definitely not going to interfere with my plan to nurse as long as I can up to a year.
The older he gets, the easier it gets, is all I can say. Breastfeeding became such a piece of cake by like 7-8 months that I never wanted to stop lol. He's almost 13 months now and we are still going strong, but I wont be upset if he weans in the next couple months.
