Dd is 7 months. She's just now starting to eat food.
I've made a bunch of baby food and the past 3 days she started eating more and more food.
Which means she's nursing less and going a lot longer between nursing. =\ I thought I'd be excited for this but it's quite depressing!

just try to nurse her before her food feedings, breastmilk should still be her main source of nutrition until about 1 yo. However, once you introduce food, it is technically starting weaning, LOL. However, it took 2.5 years (almost) for my DD to wean after introducing food.

I'm totally with ya, i don't have many nursing sessions during the day anymore. Still going at night but i find i'm pumping now during the day so don't see a drop in supply.

DD is this way. She would rather crawl around then lay down and nurse

OMG!!! I feel like such an idiot. I totally didn't even think of nursing before feeding her food. =\
I'm glad you said that. I'll start doing that.

I've also had to start pumping each day for 2 reasons. I have oversupply since she's nursing less. And because I don't want my supply to decrease.
So I'm pumping each day and using the milk in her cereal the next morning. =>
THE angry uterus likes this.

DD wasn't really interested in food for a while but I always nursed before feeding her. It has worked out great : ) She's 1.5 yrs and still nursing. Not as much but she still does. It's also about comfort for them, so don't worry she'll still nurse. Food is just new and delicious. : )

Nursing before feeding helps keep your supply up, I do this as well, and he still eats a good amount of food. Any extra pumped milk I have I put into his food.
