That I'm pregnant again! I had a loss at 6 weeks 2 months ago, so I'm a little worried, but this pregnancy seems to be progressing well, my tests are getting darker and I just got my digi positive this morning!

DS is still mostly EBF, minus occasional crackers/bread.

Any tips on doing pregnancy while breastfeeding will be greatly appreciated! I always do the cradle hold and I imagine I will need to find a new position...

Thank you!

I have been wondering for a while.. How does your milk change when you have a new baby and are still nursing another child? Do you still get colostrum?

you will change to colostrum before the baby comes. Everyone is different. SOmetimes there is no change, sometimes a dip in supply, sometimes a change in the taste.

I guess I'm just confused as to how my milk will be good for 2 different aged children. Will my milk be catering to the needs of the new baby? That's what I'd assume anyway. I'm hoping to get Jakob on solid meals soon so BFing in not his only source of nutrition. Any ideas on solids to give? We have tried purees and he hates them all

I'm in the same boat, DS is so over his purees. He'll be a year next month though and i've basically been giving him whatever i'm eating, just in small bites.

Good luck with everything!!

I am 26 weeks along and still breastfeed my 20+ month daughter. I normally breastfeed laying down before nap time or sometimes sitting on the couch. She's tall enough now that she can just sit next to me.
I actually started bleeding at 6 weeks and it was from dehydration so now I try to keep hydrated. Sometimes I slack, but I really try to keep up with it because I was very scared that I would miscarry. I do feel contractions at times when she's breastfeeding so I'm trying to wean her or at least diminish the amount of time she spends latched especially because she'll try to sleep through an entire nap with my breast in her mouth if allowed and that is just not happening! lol

Congrats Kelsey! That's fantastic!

I'm not still BF, so I can't give a lot of advice, but sometimes out of the blue, my daughter (3) will ask to nurse (we weaned about 8 months ago or so).

Grace never really liked purees either...we mostly did baby led weaning with her. We offered her solids, like steamed veggies, and let her explore them on her own. It was slow going, but she eventually started eating more solids...that was not until around 10 months or so, and it took another few months before she was really eating much, though.

Good luck to you, and lots of sticky dust!

Try to let him self feed.

I dont have science to back this up but my gut feeling has been that the milk caters to the younger child. The body goes through pregnancy and starts producing colustrum from there which again matures into milk.

I've been tandem feeding for over 20 months. It has had its challenges at times but in the end I'm happy I didnt wean. Nursing is still really important to my older daughter.
