any idea what would cause blisters on the nipple? im in some major pain and i dont even know what is causing this or how to get rid of it. its only on one but now the other is starting to hurt some too maybe because im avoiding using the one with the blisters.

my DD has been nursing for almost 16mo now and we havent had this before. when the blister burst there was clear liquid inside. ive been using nursing pads and putting lanolin on it and that helps but its not really getting better. Any help would be appreciated

i would make sure her latch is good and make her relatch if not. you can also see a LC or LLL group to check out the latch.

Sounds painful! Sorry! It does kind of sound like the latch might be the problem. Hopefully you can get it resolved soon!

ok, updating, things are getting better. the blisters are going away. I still dont know what happened. I wonder if it somehow was rubbing on her newish molars. they have been growing in for a while now but some are more in than others and they are kind of sharp. I cant think of anything that could have caused this besides that.
thanks for the replies
