Hi ladies!

I am TTC #3 (hopefully pregnant now, crossing fingers!). I bottle feed both of my other children. I was 17 when I had my 1st, and didn't really know any better. With my second, I didn't give it much thought because I hadn't before, and regretted it a lot. Now that I am going to have #3 I am sure I want to BF, but I'm feeling a little guilty over the decision because of not doing it for my other two. Did anyone have a similar experience?

i only have one child so i cannot answer your question, but having a support system (family, friends, la leche, etc) and education (meetings, support groups, books, etc) are the key to success. The womanly art of breastfeeding is a good place to start.

Hi! Yes, I had a similar experience. I wanted to bf #1 but he was premature, so although I pumped for six months for him, he was bottle fed. I didn't even try to nurse #2. But with #3 I was committed. The decision whether to breastfeed or not is an important one, but it isn't everything. And as they say.. "When you know better, you do better." It is ok for you to grow as a mother. Best wishes with TTC.

I haven't had that experience personally, but I just want to say good luck!

My mom BF all three of her kids, but the first two it was just for 4-6 weeks. With my younger sister, she bf much longer, because she was more informed and all the circumstances were more conducive to it. Nothing wrong with that! And we all turned out just fine.
