I'm planning on drinking protein shakes as part of my weight loss and strength training plan. I found one which seems to have no artificial sweeteners.
I'm hoping that some of you may be able to provide me with some info or advice on the product that I bought.
The brand is: Precision Iso-Pro ultra low carb, natural flavour
Here's a list of the ingredients:
cross flow microfiltered whey protein isolate, glucomannan, alpha lipoic acid, *D-Pinitol, fenugreek seed (4-Hydroxyisoleucine), aminogen® (Protease I, Protease II), Lactase.
*INZITOL® brand D-Pinotol is a registered trademark of Humanetics Corporation
I think that lactase is a milk sugar. I think that I have lactose intolerance (never been tested though). I'm wondering why they would put fenugreek seed in it. Would this increase my milk supply? My DD seems to be satisfied with how much breastmilk she gets a day. She nurses when she wakes up, before nap, bedtime, and at least twice a night. Sometimes she will nurse at other times during the day.
What do you think, is it safe to consume while nursing? Have any of you consumed protein shakes while nursing?
