My daughter just turned 4 months and when she was born I decided that if I was going to have anymore children it would have to happen this year due to my age. I nursed my sons for 8 and 9 months, I am nursing my daughter now and am not ready to stop yet. I know that you can become pregnant while breastfeeding but is it very common?

It really depends on each person. Some people get full fertility back in a couple months while EBF and others do not regain regular cycles again until weaned.

It also depends on if you started birth control or not and if you have started your period.

I got pregnant with my first daughter while nursing my oldest son. It's definitely possible!

I have been nursing for just over 4 months and have not had a period and I am not using any sort of birth control. I am sure my chances of ovulating without a period is pretty rare...but I am not ready to stop nursing just yet.
