Hey ladies! I'm Stephanie, and I have 3 girls, twins Rylan and Dakota, age 3.5 years and our newest addition, Kadyn who is 2 days old (in 2 hours!)

The first day K did great nursing, then last night she started doing cluster feeds. 10-20 minutes on a side, then unlatch, scream like crazy, then latch to the next side, and repeat for 2 hours til she falls asleep. Is it normal for her to scream like that? Is it just because my milk isn't in yet?

Thanks! :-)

sounds normal. I would just put her on the breast as much as possible. Her tummy is the size of a shooter marble right now, so the little bit of colostrum should be enough. congrats on your LO!

Hey Stephanie! I agree...it does sound normal. It can be exhausting, but normal at that stage. Congrats again!

Thanks ladies!! I think I'm just exhausted too, it's all overwhelming. The twins spent a lot of time in the nicu, so they were on a schedule when they came home! Newborns are all new to me!

Yes, keep track of the wet and dirty diapers and nurse as often as she wants. I would get some good lactation support!

It's definitely gotten better!! Last night she nursed and needed no supplements. And she latched on well! And slept in between!!! :-)

Yep normal. Glad she's improving. Can I ask why you had to supplement? Your milk should be plenty for her she's just going to want to eat all the time in the beginning while she builds your supply up!

I supplemented a few times more because I was exhausted and needed a break. She would nurse for hours and hours. I have another child that needs care at night too. So between the newborn and other kiddo I wasn't sleeping. I needed a break.

We are doing much better now!! She hasn't had any supplements in over a week! :-)
