I am doing pre-pregnancy research and I am wondering what your experiences have been with this particular topic:

I currently have my nipples pierced. Of course I will be taking the jewelry out... Will I be able to breastfeed or will the scar tissue prevent it?

Your input is appreciated!

you should be fine. I had mine pierced a long time ago and the only thing i noticed is when i pumped, some milk would come out of the piercing hole. Otherwise, i had no issues.

You should be fine. You may notice leaking from where the hole was. Some piercings can severe the end of a milk duct but that is very very rare which may decrease the supply slightly on that side and may cause some plugged ducts but again that is very rare.

I have no personal experience, but I have heard that it should not be a problem.

i had mine pierced for years. took them out during pregnancy with DS1. BF until he self-weaned at 26 months. no issues. i did have milk come out the holes a bit while pumping! now with baby #2 (5 years later), they have fully closed - no milk coming out the holes this time!
