Here are my questions & concerns. I'm bfing my second child. My first lo developed a marked preference for one side and I got quite lopsided (at least one cup size bigger on one side). This size difference lasted 4 years until now. The small side offers less milk and DD is going down the path her brother opened up. According to a lactation consultant, I should do breast compressions after she finishes nursing and starts "nibbling". Does anyone else do this? It's tough to keep track of her activity on the breast when I have to watch her brother and/or I'm on the computer.

The second question is this. When it's time to wean her, if I continue to pump the smaller side and wean the larger side, will that work to even me out? I think my only other option to fix the lopsided issue is surgery, and I REALLY would rather avoid that!

I had a side that produced significantly more milk, so i would start every feeding on the lesser producing side and power pump only the lesser producing side and eventually they evened out, maybe by 6-9 months?
