I have heard different things about the new formula with DHA/ARA being bad. Is this true? I will be breastfeeding at least the first few months, possibly longer, but if I do decide to supplement w/formula should I steer clear of the new kind?
All the free samples of formula I've gotten have been with the DHA/ARA.

AS much as I abhor Nestle's market practices in 3rd world countries, I would use carnation good start WITHOUT the dha/ara. That would be at least a 2nd choice for me. I would rather pump and feed breastmilk. There are more reasons why formula is the WHO's 4th choice in infant feeding. Corn syrup is a key ingredient and I just can't see how that's appropriate. We all do what we feel is best though. Also, remember that bf isn't all or nothing.

here's whydha/ara is just not what it's cracked up to be
