I am planing on registering for a breast pump... anyone have suggestions? Is an electric pump that much better than a manual?

It depends on what you're using it for.
Are you staying home or working?

If you're staying home, I recommend the Avent Isis- I've used it for 2 of my 3 babies, and have good experiences.

If you're working, I recommend the Medela Pump in Styel. An electric pump is a MUST for working Moms. I pumped for my 2nd daughter exclusively for several months with this pump.

I am with Krista. If you are working part time you may be able to get by with the Avent Isis. It is a great pump. But the Medela PIS (or something comparable) is a must have if you are working. There is a big difference in electric and manual. However, if you are buying an electric one at the store like the ones at the drugstore or Walmart, don't waste your money. The only pump I would buy that you can find at a drugstore would be the Avent Isis. If you are buying electric I would get a Medela Pump In Style or Ameda Purely Yours.
