DD will be 1 in a few weeks and I think she's starting to self wean ! She still nurses pretty well at night, but during the day for the past several days she will nurse for a minute and then start bitting and pulling away! I've been getting so engorged the past few days, which hasn't happened in a long time!

I had initially said we'd go to a year, ds only made it to 10 months, but she's my last baby and I've enjoyed it soooo much, it makes me so sad to think she's almost ready to stop! I hope she at least continues at night for a few more months... she's getting so big with walking and all that the nursing still makes me feel like she's my little baby for awhile longer ! Just had to vent about it

I'm not sure because we're not there yet,, but I think I read somewhere that it's common to have a nursing strike around that age, what with walking and all sorts of exciting things go on, so moms stop offering and the child weans, when if the mom keeps offering it oftentimes will pass.

Ditto about the nursing strike!

keep offering, and also try getting into a quiet & secluded place to nurse during the day. Easier said than done with other little ones in the house - but even if its only a few times a day it might help snice theyre usually so easily distracted. You can also try offering fewer solids & trying to be sure you offer the breast before any solids.

Hang in there
