DH has been acting suspiciously supportive of my dice divining. As long as I've known him, he's been a strictly science-only guy who scoffs at anything that has to do with religion or magick. He doesn't believe in anything---or so he always says. For the past three days, he's been asking me to roll the dice for him. Today was a real shocker for me, though. If he doesn't believe in it, why call me on the phone today from work and ask me to roll the dice for a question? Hmmm? Let's just say that I had to keep my cool, but on the inside I was like, "Wha-wha-whaaaat?!?!"
So, is this DH showing a part of him that he's kept hidden---a part of him that actually DOES want to believe in something greater than the rational scientific world he's always lived in? I sure hope so. My spirituality was hampered for a long time because of the fear of his ridicule. Now it's like doors are opening for me all over the place. It's a wonderful feeling!
Given that you're using a tool that's very familiar to him (ya know, dice for nerd rollin'), I think it's been easier for him to transition his interests. Who knows? Maybe eventually he'll start joining you in your spirituality.
