I am hoping to get a bit of time to play with my new runes at the weekend.

Does anyone with rune experience have any tips for a beginner?

I say always start with this book:
Taking Up The Runes

It's the best book and the one that's recommended the most in the rune reading community!

I do intend to buy that book, but that won't be happening until I get my first wage. I was hoping for tips I can use in the meantime lol.

Gotcha!

First tip would be to really familiarize yourself with the sound of each rune and memorizing each one. Then gradually learn more and more about each so it can all embed in your head
