Nope. It was founded on the freedom to worship as you choose. Hence, the reason we fought to get away from the rule of England. Not once in the document is the word god ever capatilized in any form. Money didn't have In God We Trust until like the 1940's or 50's.
Not to mention all the quotes from founding fathers speaking AGAINST Christianity and government being ruled by religion.
"The United States is in no sense founded upon Christian doctrine" George Washington
"I do not find in orthodox Christianity one redeeming feature" . Thomas Jefferson
"It does me not injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or not god. Neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." Thomas Jefferson
"The bible is not my book, and Christianity is not my religion" A. Lincoln
"I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any other church that I know of. My own mind is my own church." Thomas Paine
Many didnt consider themselves Christian so I dont think its possible it was founded on only those beliefs.
The US, imho, was founded on all mens right to freedom of religion, speech, etc. We wanted a land where those were rights we all had and opression wasnt a factor.
It was others who decided to say it was based on Christianity.
