If you could go anywhere where would you go? Which 2 people would you take, and why?

Thanks ladies. I haven't forgotten to come and answer, just had a mad week. Will answer when I have time to sit down and think, these are quite deep questions.

What has come up time and again this year is how much of a control freak I am and how much I stress over the small stuff and really shouldn't. That's what I've really had to try to overcome this year. It's still a work in progress.

I would love to go on a road trip in the USA. There are places I want to see, such as Yosemite and the Grand Canyon, and people I want to meet, mostly people I've met here. It's probably a trip that would best be made when the kids are older - I would take them if they wanted to go as it's such a once in a lifetime thing, or if they didn't want to go then I'd take Shaun, just Shaun and have a couple adventure together.

with your family - the zoo, it's just such a family place with something for everyone.

by yourself - I like poking round the garden centre and having a quiet sit in the cafe, or going for a walk...it's the thinking time I like.

to find your spirituality - anywhere I can walk/sit in nature.

The worst is people who are inconsiderate idiots on the road. I love driving, a drive a lot, and it drives me mad.

There are so many people right now who choose to be ignorant generally. I noticed when I was pregnant that common courtesy has pretty much gone out of the window these days - nobody seems to offer seats to those who need them and that sort of thing. And there I am trying to bring my children up to be courteous in that way.

Fireworks are my pet peeve this week. I just wish they'd keep them to displays and stop selling them in shops. We've had them every night round here for over a week.

I have a ton of fun ideas for Christmas and Yule pinned on Pinterest. How many of them I'll get to do, who knows. Not a great amount of time to spare with a small baby and a 6-year-old!
Christmas and Yule Inspirations

One thing I definitely would like to add to my Yule celebrations is to take a standard chocolate swiss roll and make it into an elaborate Yule log, yum yum. We have a real Yule log to do as well, which I skipped last year but did do the year before.

No matter what time of year
Most of them are ones I've instigated, as the ones from when I was a child sort of stopped when I was a teenager.

At Imbolc I refresh my altar. I usually buy or make new candles and pot pourri.

At Easter/Ostara we have chocolate eggs. Daniel gets a chocolate egg or two, a couple of new books and new DVDs. We have a few Easter decorations we put up in the kitchen, too.

Nothing at Beltane/Litha and nothing at Lammas to date though I'm aiming for that next year. During the summer holidays the last week is always school prep. Daniel gets new shoes and a new haircut and we go uniform shopping. It's sort of a ritual for him.

Around Mabon Daniel and I always go walking and hunting for autumn treasures. I re-do my altar at this time and make it more autumnal.

At Samhain we carve pumpkins and do trick-or-treat. I make a witch's ladder. Next year I want to carve pumpkins and decorate the windowsill a day early so there's time to incorporate more fun stuff on Samhain itself.

At Yule I have a Yule log and ask everyone else to tie their wishes to it as well as mine. It's around Yule when we choose and put up the Yule/Christmas decorations, too. We always have a tree. That's my job. And then it varies what else we put up.

On Christmas Eve we open one present each and hang stockings up. On Christmas Day we open the rest of the presents and have family dinner. My aunt (who was married to my dad's brother, both of them now sadly passed) either spends the day with us or visits that day. On Boxing Day we go to my aunt (my mum's sister)'s house. She has an open house with a buffet and we usually get to see all of my mum's side of the family.

We don't really do anything for New Year. Samhain is really my new year.
Shaun and I usually go over to visit his mum for a few days. Daniel doesn't always come as he is sometimes with his dad then.

Favorite book as a child? Enid Blyton: The Magic Faraway Tree series and the Malory Towers series

Favorite book now(doesnt have to be spiritual)? The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield

Favorite book you want to read to your kids? It probably will be The Magic Faraway Tree when they are old enough.

If you could live anywhere in the US, where would you live?

I don't know too much about US geography, as I've never been. Where was The Waltons set? Was that in Virginia? Somewhere like that. In the mountains.

Purple of course, because it's my favourite colour.

I'd love to see the pyramids in Egypt and Central America, plus the museum in Cairo and sample real Mexican food. Then there are a ton of US places I want to go including the Grand Canyon, Yosemite and Niagara Falls. I'd also love to go on safari in Africa. Those would be the dream trips really.

Thanks for joining in ladies! I enjoyed this!
