My mom used to say, when we acted all bored, "what are you gonna do just sit around and twiddle your thumbs?"

So, did your mom or dad ever have sayings that they used from their youth that you perhaps use to this day?

Another one I use that she heard from her grandma and mother and now us is "dont stick your elbow out too far, it may go home in a different car!"

My mom used to say the twiddle thumbs thing. I don't really have any passed-on parenting phrases that I use. I think I do my best to avoid them at all costs... LOL!
