As I stated in the "broom closet" thread, I'm very personal about my religion. I don't discuss it with anyone, because I see no reason for them to be involved with my spirituality. Well, my mom, her friend (a new one) and my bil's father and I were all sitting down eating. Well, I had just taken the last bite of my food while they all sat down. My mothers friend had her head down and looked like she was sick or something. I asked her if she was ok, she said "Yea, I'm just praying." I was like "Oh, ok, I'm sorry for interrupting you." My Mom then said "Oh, I'm sorry Cathy (friend), should we all say Grace?" All three of them said yes, and held out their hands. My Mother and Cathy handed their hands out to me and I just smiled humorously and said "Well, I'm done eatin'!' (meaning I didn't have to pray because I was done kwim?) and got up.
I felt a little bad. But, not really. I just didn't want to explain to them why I don't pray. Too much energy lol.
I dont think you're horrible for not praying... although personally I would probably have prayed along with them, but thats just me. If you are uncomfortable with praying then obviously I wouldnt expect you to. Maybe you can talk to them personally and say that you realized after you got up that you might have come off as rude when you didnt mean to. You dont have to go into the details of why you got up... I'm sure they'll understand if you just tell them that you didnt mean to come off as rude (if they took it that way). But really, I wouldnt worry about it.
