Hello, I am a newbie here, just having some concerns. I have been having problems with my period since Oct, abnormal AF, bad cramps, cramps in-between so I finally had an ultrasound last week and my ob/gyn called me in for a follow up appointment because my IUD isn't sitting right. I've only had it in for a year and was planning to TTC after getting it out. I am not ready to have it out and i really don't want to go back on the pill...

Has this ever happened to anyone? Was the doctor able to "fix it". If there's a risk to my health I will have it out, I just feel like ****.. that would be such a waste of $370

Even when placed properly, there are serious risks to your health with the Mirena. The doctor should have explained the most serious ones to you when you had it inserted, and also given you a patient information sheet to read on your own. All the warnings are there.

I had mine in for 7 months I had bleeding for about 4 of the 7 months. I had horrible cramping pain and cysts because of it. So I was not going to Risk it because I have a bad family history of cysts. They also have Nuva ring. I to had problems with that causeing pain for me though. Do whats best for you!
