So, I'm currently on bc, only been on for about two months now. Dh and I have decided that we're ready to try for a baby. How would you suggest getting off the bc? I'm on the third week in my pack. Would it be better to just stop taking it now, or wait until after the sugar pills?
The BCP gives you a steady dose of hormone every day, the only reason you get "periods" on it is because of the placebo pills - the days you don't get a dose of hormone. So it doesn't matter when you stop! You'll likely experience a withdrawal bleed within a few days of stopping.
I would just stop and as other poster mentioned I would expect some withdraw bleeding a few days after. Since you haven't been on it long I would guess it would be easy for your body to regulate back to normal. I was on it for 1.5 years and once I stopped it took over three months for me to get first AF. And the next 6 months of AF were very irregular and heavy. (Then I got pregnant! )
