Has anyone on here ever removed your IUD yourself?

Don't do it! You could cause serious damage to your uterus or cervix. IUD's are sometimes expelled by your body on their own, but that doesn't mean it's safe to do it on purpose.

haha Well, it's out now. Came out real easy. So easy I could hardly feel it coming out. I feel absolutely normal afterwards. No pain, no cramping... just great! And I saved $200!!!

You are brave! Lol I have been thinking of taking it out myself too when we are ready. Just curious, did you have any negative symptoms from the IUD that have since gone away since having it out?

I'm not sure if I had negative side affects from the IUD. If I did they were minor, or I've credited symptoms to something else. Like cramping often or acne. Nothing huge, but MAYBE the IUD made those worse, but I'm not sure. It's to soon to recognize if there's a difference, too. I just did it last night. Maybe in a few months I'll be able to tell a difference. If I'm not pregnant, that is.

It was pretty simple to do. Once we could find and grip the string it came out easily. I had a friend who just did it, so she gave me tips and my husband took it out very slowly and very carefully.

Removing your own IUD is something that should never, ever be done. Ever. There are complications that could arise that could lead to you becoming infertile or worse if you do it yourself. And if it turns out there was something wrong with your IUD while you had it in, you've just completely ruined any chance at getting any sort of resolution for it.

oh.my.gosh. Girl, you better be GLAD nothing happened to you. I still say go get checked because you may feel fine, doesn't mean that you are. OMG...I know people who do it, but...I wouldn't do it. WOW! =O
