I am 25 and only have one child a daughter and currently have the mirena implant as b/c however due to so big problems with it , I'm having it removed on the 22nd. I am strongly considering just asking my doctor about tying my tubes. I know it's kind of strange for me to want them tied having only had one kid but my husband will not get himself fixed and It's really not that I would never want another baby I had originally chosen to wait until my daughter turned 4 to have another(she will turn 2 in 4 months) however after carefully watching my husband and considering that he may not even be ready for another child in 2 years I'm really considering a tubal.

I was wondering if any of you who have had it done would be willing to tell me how your tubal went...also did you insurance cover it?

If you have any advice please feel free to share I'm open to suggestions.

It may be different with each doctor / hospital but here they wont do it unless you are atleast 30 or atleast 3 kids.

I think every area is different. I looked into one a few years ago because my ex-husband and I never wanted children. Here (east TN) you have to be 35, married and/or have 3 living children and have a letter from the church saying that you can have one as all the hospitals are religion based. I wrote the letter but it was denied because we had no children and I wasn't 35+.

Worked out I guess after we devorced because here I am now!

Just be sure you are 600% sure you're done and do your homework about Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome. You'll want to be fully informed of the risks when making this decision.

Really!!?! I have never inquired about this procedure. But, if an adult (over 21) wants a procedure done, I don't see how a medical practitioner could deny them.

At least 3 kids!? Some people don't need any children.

IM glad to hear that you are not getting the tubal, I had a tubal and was heart broken over it almost instantly I realized I had made a horrid mistake. I was blessed enough to be able to have it reversed and concieve my daughter but I had my tubes tied for 8 years and had alot of symptoms of PTLS post tubal ligation syndrome. I am currently on the pill thats good enough for me.
