You definitely want to give your body at least 3 months before TTC, but the more time your body has to heal - the better! The synthetic progesterone in the Mirena keeps the lining of your uterus thin so that if you conceive, the pregnancy can't continue past 7-10 days. It can take a few cycles for the lining to build back up again after you have the Mirena removed, so to avoid miscarriage - it's recommended to wait at least 3 cycles before TTC.
I just posted a question like this a couple of days ago. I too have the Mirena and although we are WTT until July/August 2013, I want to know do I need to get it out in April or May so I can give my body a chance to "get back to normal" before we acually TTC.
