I'm planning on having a baby next year and just wondering what to expect after getting my mirena removed.
I want to get it removed in January but we are going on a vacation and I just don't know what to expect. Am I going to have lots of bleeding afterwards? Our vacation is in February and I don't want to deal with that if I don't have to. but I also don't want to have to wait until we get back from vacation to get it removed and then wait for my cycle to regulate to start ttc.
Due to benefits of maternity leave through my work I can't get pregnant until January 1st.
I bled the entire 9 months I had the Mirena. I had heavy period like bleeding starting two days after removal that lasted a week. I had another period only 24 days later. Then my next 2 cycles were 50+ days long and I felt a ton of early pregnancy symptoms--nausea, hot flashes, fatigue, moody. I went through so many negative pregnancy tests during those cycles.
We were practically NTNP and became pregnant 9 months after having it removed.
I have had the Mirena in for 2years and have had not a period since. Before that I was on the pill since the age of 12 and after all the problems I had had since I first got my period the Mirena was a big relief
