Hi.. I'm Andrea.. I'm a SAHM to my 3 kiddos.. Noah (3), Nickolas (2), and Alyzabeth (1) and am expecting our 4th in October. I've got a question I thought maybe you ladies could answer for me if you don't mind....
I don't know if I just started thinking about it because I'm pregnant or if it's just because I'm paranoid LOL but I've really been wondering what happens to the kids if I have to call 911 and be taken to the hospital? I'm home alone all day with the kids, so say I go into labor and have to call an ambulance because it's happening really quick (ok I realize that's wishful thinking LOL) or something happens and I have to call an ambulance.. there's only one person here who I could call in an emergency to watch the kids.. if I can't get ahold of her, it would take Brian a little over an hour to get here from work.. next closest person is my mom 3 hours away... I'm certain they wouldn't send the kids with me in the ambulance, but what do they do with the kids? Does a policeman stay here with the kids until Brian can get here? Do they take them to the station? Does someone else come in? This is seriously bugging me so if anyone could shine some light on what happens, I'd really really appreciate it!

Many Many Thanks to GraysMama (Chelsea) for my AMAZING Siggy!!!
Hi, Andrea, I am Patty, one of the hosts here, and was a paramedic for a number of years. If was a true life threatening emergency, rest assured, they would load up you and the kids and all of you would go to the hospital together. They cannot leave three kids at home alone. If it was a true emergency they also could not wait for a friend to get there either. You may want to talk to a neighbor and see if you can make arrangements for them to be available if something happens.
